About this opportunity
DLA Aviation Philadelphia is seeking contractors to manufacture 52 Receiver Subassembly, Radar units with National Stock Number 7RE 5841 015191769 EX and Part Number 5402927-1, which are critical Ground Furnished Equipment (GFE) supporting military fleet operations. The Defense Logistics Agency is pursuing this procurement under FAR 6.302-1, which allows negotiation with a limited number of sources, indicating a potential sole-source or restricted competitive environment. Interested contractors must submit capability statements and proposals within 15 days of the notice's publication on May 13, 2025, with a response deadline of May 20, 2025. The government currently lacks the manufacturing data necessary to produce these radar receiver subassemblies and will require potential contractors to demonstrate technical capability. Proposals will be evaluated based on the contractor's ability to meet source approval requirements, with additional documentation needed from non-approved sources using the Source Approval information Brochure for Spares.
The procurement does not have a specific set-aside designation, meaning it is open to all qualified contractors within the Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Aeronautical, and Nautical System and Instrument Manufacturing sector (NAICS 334511). While no specific award value is disclosed, the requirement for 52 units suggests a potentially significant contract opportunity. Contractors must be prepared to submit comprehensive technical and manufacturing capability documentation, with DLA Aviation emphasizing that source approval processes will not delay the overall procurement timeline. The agency has indicated that approved sources will be prioritized and that the time required for new source approval might preclude last-minute additions to the solicitation. Interested vendors can obtain additional source approval request information through the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) website, which provides detailed guidance for potential contractors.
