About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 19 (VA VHA VISN 19) has issued a Special Notice of Intent to Sole Source a procurement for security locks at the Sheridan VA Medical Center. The notice, published on January 22, 2025, indicates the VA's intention to award a contract directly to RAE Security, Inc., a small business manufacturer located in Houston, TX. The procurement is specifically for bathroom security locks aimed at addressing patient and staff safety concerns at the medical center. The sole source contract will involve the purchase of multiple lock components, including HD Office Locks, Grade 1 Office Mortise Locks, Levers, Escutcheons, and CORMAX Combinated Cores. The U.S. Government locksmiths will handle the installation of these security locks.
Contractors interested in this opportunity must demonstrate their capability to meet the VA's requirements by submitting detailed information to Karly.Morris@va.gov no later than 10:00 AM Central Time on February 3, 2025. While the notice is not a request for competitive quotes, interested parties are encouraged to provide relevant documentation such as specifications, cut sheets, brochures, and capability statements that confirm their ability to supply the required products. RAE Security, Inc. has been identified as the sole authorized vendor for this procurement due to their existing End User Information and Code Release Agreement with the Sheridan VA Medical Center and their unique ability to combinate cores at the facility. The VA reserves the discretion to determine whether to compete the requirement based on the responses received. Importantly, the government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by parties seeking to respond to this notice, and no installation services are required as part of the contract.
