About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration (VA) is conducting a sources sought announcement for two Follett Symphony Plus Ice and Water Dispensers at the VA Albuquerque Warehouse. Specifically, the agency seeks freestanding ice machines with 50 lb storage capacity, water stations, air-cooling capabilities, and infrared dispensing sensors. Interested vendors must submit detailed responses via email by May 15, 2025, at 16:00 PDT, including company information, business size status, NAICS code 333998 small business classification, existing federal contract details, pricing information, and a comprehensive capability statement. The market research is designed to inform appropriate acquisition decisions and identify potential qualified contractors. Respondents must be authorized resellers and registered in the System for Award Management (SAM), with Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) receiving priority consideration.

The VA has mandated potential prioritization for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses under Public Law 109-461, with the possibility of alternate set-aside or full and open competition if insufficient SDVOSB responses are received. No subcontracting opportunities are anticipated for this procurement, which falls under NAICS code 333998 with a small business threshold of 500 employees. While no specific award value is mentioned, the solicitation is for two specific ice machine units at the Albuquerque facility. Prospective bidders must also be registered with the Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Veterans Enterprise VetBiz Registry if applicable. The agency emphasizes that this sources sought announcement is not a formal solicitation and does not obligate the government to issue a contract, serving primarily as a market research tool to assess potential vendor capabilities.
