About this opportunity

Air Combat Command issued a sole-source justification on June 23, 2026 for the 355th Security Forces Squadron to procure Archer 1200 portable vehicle barriers from Meridian Rapid Defense Group, LLC; quotes are not being accepted. The 355 SFS at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base requires the Archer 1200 barriers and associated accessories to prevent unauthorized vehicle access at installation entry control points and provide rapidly deployable vehicle denial capability in support of force protection operations.

Meridian is the sole manufacturer and patent holder of the Archer 1200 system; the company certifies it does not authorize third-party distributors. The barrier is a portable anti-ram system requiring no electricity, hydraulics, or forklifts, designed for one-person deployment and repositionable as mission requirements change. The Archer 1200 is manufactured in the United States using American-made steel and has been tested to MASH, ASTM, PAS 68, and IWA14 standards, with stopping power certified at 30 mph within 14 feet and ballistic protection to .50 caliber NATO ammunition.

The procurement includes six Archer 1200 barriers (painted traffic orange), three field tow bars, three 4-foot arrestor cables, six wayfinding frames, six caution-stop-time signs, and shipping to Davis-Monthan AFB. The contracting activity is 355 CONS. The justification was signed June 22, 2026 in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1).
