About this opportunity
The United States Air Forces in Europe and Africa, on behalf of the 321 Special Tactics Squadron at RAF Mildenhall, United Kingdom, seeks quotes for a remote marking system equivalent to the LodeStar V2 for drop zone and landing zone operations, with quotes due September 17 and questions due September 9. No set-aside applies due to overseas location. This is a firm fixed-price Request for Quote (RFQ), not a competitive solicitation.
Place of performance is Mildenhall, Bury Saint Edmunds IP28 8NS, UK, with delivery required within 90 calendar days of award. The requirement calls for one complete remote marking system containing a minimum of 30 individual light units capable of both steady and flashing output with a minimum 15-candela illumination rating. The system must support five selectable color outputs (Infrared, Red, White, Blue, Green), three distinct LED array configurations (horizontal, vertical, and forward-facing) with toggleable on/off capability, and remote operation via handheld ATAK devices. Units must operate on AA batteries with full lithium compatibility, withstand direct tire rollovers and jet blast from C-130 and C-17 aircraft, and include ground-securing mechanisms with at least two stakes. A Line-of-Sight control range of 3,000 to 15,000 feet is required. The system must comply with DAFMAN 13-217, UFC 3-260-01, and UFC 3-535-01. Technical documentation must not exceed 20 pages. Quotes remain firm for 60 calendar days. Inspection and acceptance occur at both destination and contractor locations. NAICS code is 335139; PSC is 6210. Questions should be directed to A1C Vincent Vasquez (vincent.vasquez.3@us.af.mil) or SSgt Veronica Batista Velez (veronica.batista_velez_velez@us.af.mil). Funds are not presently available, and the Government reserves the right to cancel without obligation to reimburse offeror costs.
