About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation published this Limited/Sole Source Justification Notice for the procurement of Bearing Assy, Rotor components (NSN 3110-01-249-3982) under solicitation SPE4A625RX043. The justification supports a sole source acquisition from Lord Corporation, the only approved source for this critical safety item and critical application item, with the government posting a Sources Sought notice on October 4, 2024, that received no responses. The contract was awarded on August 1, 2025, to an unknown vendor for an undisclosed amount, though the acquisition value is noted to be over $15 million but under $100 million. This Commercial Indefinite Delivery Contract spans a five-year base period with an estimated annual demand of 196 units, minimum of 49 units, and maximum of 196 units, with delivery requested 635 days after receipt of order. The procurement includes stringent requirements such as first article testing, production lot testing, export control restrictions, and covered defense information provisions due to the critical nature of these bearing assemblies used in aviation applications.
