About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command is soliciting contractors to design, fabricate, and install fall safety railings for two Navy training systems at Naval Station Mayport, Florida. The contract requires the development of bolt-together aluminum railing systems using 1-1/2 inch schedule 40 mill finish aluminum that will surround three sides of training modules at the Mission Module Readiness Center and Surface Combat Systems Training Center. Contractors must be capable of supporting 3-4 personnel working on top of each module and must submit designs for government approval before fabrication begins. The solicitation was amended to extend the response deadline from July 18, 2025 to July 23, 2025 at 3:00 PM PST, with quotes remaining valid for 60 calendar days after submission. Site visits for visual inspections and measurements are available from July 7-11, 2025 during business hours of 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM EST, and draft drawings are accessible through SAM.gov upon request.

This procurement is set aside as a Total Small Business opportunity, with preference given to local small businesses within 60 miles of Naval Station Mayport, though contractors outside this radius may still submit bids. The contract work is divided into four line items covering both fabrication and installation at each of the two facility locations, with performance expected to occur between September 1-15, 2025. The training modules measure approximately 104.5 inches in height and 201 inches in length, with specific design considerations required for hatch openings that must slide underneath the safety railings. All work will be performed at Naval Station Mayport in Jacksonville, Florida, with no security clearance required for contractor personnel. The solicitation falls under NAICS code 332999 for All Other Miscellaneous Fabricated Metal Product Manufacturing with a size standard of 750 employees.
