About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) is seeking a contractor to provide fiber optic internet service to support approximately 70 devices at the Special Operations Center for Medical Integration and Development (SOCMID) facility in Birmingham, Alabama. The service must include a minimum of 200 Mbps download and 200 Mbps upload speeds, a firewall, Wi-Fi controller, network switches, and at least 8 access points. The contractor must permit the transit of all internet protocols without filters or proxies and allow the use of virtual private networks (VPNs). Proposals are due by August 23, 2024, and any questions must be submitted by August 8, 2024.

  • The internet service provided will be in fiber optic format to support approximately 70 devices varying from Laptops, Tablets, and Mobile Devices.
  • A Firewall and Wi-Fi control will be provided by the contractor.
  • Two network switches, one for each floor
  • At least eight access points to accommodate all devices while providing mesh connectivity for classroom/training and office space, which is split between two floors
  • Service will be provided IAW the companies standard offerings for business service to the government.
  • The service options will be priced in a standard upload and download speeds for data service.
  • 200 Mbps Download and 200 Mbps upload
  • The quality of service provided by the contractor will be digital bandwidth provided to the customer at the customer requested service point which is the point of the last equipment item provided by the contractor.
  • The data stream shall be provided without distortion.
