About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command at Robins Air Force Base is conducting market research to identify sources to produce the 20MM Ammunition Transfer System (20MM ATS, NSN 4925-01-612-9334), a build-to-print acquisition where the Government owns the Technical Data Package, with an anticipated solicitation response deadline of September 15, 2026. The Air Force is considering use of the Next Generation Ammunition & Munitions Equipment (NGAME) Multiple Award Contract (MAC) vehicle; the active NGAME solicitation (FA853226RB002) closes September 9, 2026, and interested vendors should submit proposals to that vehicle if seeking participation in future 20MM ATS efforts.

The 20MM ATS transfers 20MM ammunition from storage into the Universal Ammunition Loading System (UALS) or Link-less Ammunition Loading System (LALS) for flight-line transportation. The Government currently has 39 units on backorder; estimated total quantity has been revised to 150–225 units, inclusive of backorders and anticipated life-of-contract requirements. The Government will furnish prototype ATS units, UALS, and LALS units for testing; contractors must perform first article testing, production acceptance testing, and compatibility testing, then restore and disposition test units.

Interested parties should request access to the Technical Data Package and additional drawings through SAM.gov by submitting a signed DD Form 2345 to listed points of contact; access is available for 15 days upon request. The Government is not requesting capabilities narratives. An Industry Day was under consideration as of October 2024 but no confirmed date has been announced.
