About this opportunity
The U.S. Department of State's Embassy in Georgetown is soliciting proposals for food and beverage catering services (NAICS 722320) to support the 2026 Independence Day Celebration event scheduled for July 2, 2026. The contractor must provide cocktail-style food service consisting of six bite-sized pieces per person (five savory and one sweet) suitable for standing service, along with comprehensive beverage service including bar stations for Embassy-donated wines and hard liquor, contractor-provided beer and non-alcoholic beverages, and all necessary personnel, supervision, equipment, and materials for setup, service, and breakdown. Key requirements include covering all corkage fees for Embassy-provided beverages, conducting a menu tasting event at no additional cost to the government, and ensuring compliance with local health regulations and U.S. Embassy standards. The government will award the contract to the lowest-priced, acceptable, responsible offeror based on initial quotations without discussion, though discussions may occur with offerors in the competitive range if necessary, using a firm fixed-price contract type. Critical deadlines include the pre-proposal conference on April 15, 2026, the question submission deadline of April 17, 2026, and the proposal due date of April 27, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. local time, with electronic submission to GeorgetownGSOProcurementDL@state.gov.
This solicitation (19GY2026R0001) is not designated as a set-aside for small or disadvantaged businesses, with no incumbent contractors identified in the available documentation. The event will serve approximately 500 guests as a firm quantity for pricing purposes, and proposals must be submitted in Guyanese dollars with itemized costs for food, beverages, and staffing. Setup access will commence at 9:00 A.M. on July 1, 2026, with the full Sheraton kitchen available for preparation, and breakdown must occur immediately following the event's conclusion at 10:00 P.M. on July 2, 2026. The venue's standard corkage fee is U.S. $15.00 per bottle, though contractors must specify their fixed-price corkage fee in their proposals. Performance will take place at The Four Points by Sheraton Georgetown (502 Caneview Ave, Georgetown, Guyana) in Demerara-Mahaica, Guyana, and all responsible sources are eligible to submit quotations without SAM.gov registration requirements.
