About this opportunity
The Air Force Air Combat Command's 20th Logistics Readiness Squadron at Shaw Air Force Base is seeking a contractor to replace the tank sump on their R-11 refueler vehicle (registration number 08L00022). The contractor must provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, vehicles, supervision, and services necessary to safely remove the existing sump and fabricate a replacement using designer-specified aluminum alloy that matches original dimensions, fittings, and welding specifications. The work requires adherence to DOT 406 specifications and original tank manufacturer design standards, including internal tank atmosphere testing, use of a 6,000-gallon tank rotisserie for safe removal, proper welding, painting of the replaced area, and reconnection of all fittings and electrical connections. The government will evaluate offers on a best value basis, considering the first five submissions for technical acceptability and pricing. Quotes are due by September 2, 2025 at 2:00 PM EST and must remain valid until October 1, 2025.
This procurement is set aside 100% for small businesses under the Total Small Business set-aside program. The contract is structured as a firm fixed-price arrangement with a single Contract Line Item (CLIN 0001) and delivery is requested by October 15, 2025. The government will transport the R-11 fuel truck to the contractor's facility, which must be located within a 400-mile radius of Shaw Air Force Base, and will return to collect the vehicle after work completion. Work performance will take place at the contractor's facility rather than on the government installation. The solicitation documents do not specify the contract value or identify any incumbent contractors, and quotes must be submitted electronically to the designated contracting officers Michael Treaster and Joseph Nemedy.
