About this opportunity

The Department of the Army Materiel Command Mission and Installation Contracting Command Fort Hood intends to solicit four units of the APEX Nordic Back Extension Machine V3 clinical training equipment on a Total Small Business set-aside basis, with a response deadline of August 28, 2026.

Place of performance is Fort Riley, Kansas. The equipment must combine four distinct functions—a Nordic hamstring curl bench, 45-degree back extension, and hip extension station—into a single compact footprint (60 inches length by 20 inches width by 17 inches height, 500-pound weight capacity). Integrated transit wheels and specialized framing enabling vertical storage are mandatory to preserve critical facility floor space. The procurement must include freight and tactical hand-delivery services as well as a manufacturer lifetime warranty providing long-term, zero-cost component replacement on all components.

The Government cites brand-name specificity as an impediment to competition, requiring the exact APEX SKU equipment (APX-NORD-V3 for the machine, APX-FR-09 for freight, APX-WTY-LIFE for warranty) to maintain consistency across training facilities. Responses are due by 11:00 AM CST on August 28, 2026, to Joni N. Wardosky (joni.n.wardosky.civ@army.mil) and Shannon S. Campbell (shannon.s.campbell.civ@army.mil). Respondents must provide firm name and address, CAGE code, UEI number, NAICS code, business size, socioeconomic status, previous relevant experience, delivery timeline, and SAM registration confirmation. This notice is for market research and planning purposes only; no formal solicitation, quotes, bids, or proposals are being requested at this time.

Notice text

The Government requires specific brand name clinical tools to maintain consistency across training facilities. Back extension equipment must be fully capable of transitioning into four specific functions combining multiple standalone pieces of training equipment (a Nordic hamstring curl bench, a 45-degree back extension, and a hip extension station) into a single, compact footprint. This multi-use capability offers an exceptional solution for diverse clinical reconditioning protocols. To maximize square footage within a limited space facility, units feature must have integrated transit wheels and a specialized framing structure that will allow them to be tipped up and stored vertically when not in use, preserving critical open floor space for dynamic athletic screening. Procurement must include long-term, zero cost component replacement warranties.

This notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes—it does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ)/Invitation for Bid (IFB)/Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFQ, IFB, or RFP in the future.

This notice does not commit the U.S. Government to contract for any supply or service. Further, the U.S. Government is not seeking quotes, bids, or proposals at this time and will not accept unsolicited proposals in response to this source(s) sought notice. The U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this notice. Not responding to this notice does not preclude participation in any future Request for Quote (RFQ), Invitation for Bid (IFB), or Request for Proposal (RFP), if any are issued.
