About this opportunity
The U.S. Embassy in Canberra, Australia, is seeking electrical renovation services for its server room through a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The project involves comprehensive electrical infrastructure upgrades, including re-cabling 16 twenty-amp outlets, 8 four-outlet GPOs, adding 4 new twenty-amp outlets, and providing power for two air conditioning systems. Contractors must demonstrate historic preservation expertise with a minimum of 3 years experience working on historically significant structures and comply with the Heritage Act 2004 (ACT) guidelines. The government will evaluate and award the contract based on the lowest-priced technically acceptable offer, with the potential to hold discussions if necessary. Key dates include a mandatory site visit on January 14, 2025, with registration required by January 10, 2025, and quotes due by 5:00 PM AEST on January 22, 2025.
The solicitation is not set aside for any specific category of business and is open to qualified electrical contractors. While no specific incumbent is mentioned, the project requires detailed technical capabilities, including installing a new 36-pole DB for the server room, a 24-pole 3-phase DB in the IT office, and providing custom-length power cables with IEC C19 connectors for 20 UPS units. The work will be performed at the U.S. Embassy location in Harman, ACT 2600, Australia, with a project completion timeline of four months from the notice to proceed. The contract falls under the NAICS category 221122 (Electric Power Distribution) and PSC category J061 (Maintenance/Repair/Rebuild of Electric Wire and Power Distribution Equipment). Contractors must submit a completed SF-18, Section A pricing, and other required documentation from Section I of the solicitation.
