About this opportunity

The Department of the Army Materiel Command Mission and Installation Contracting Command Fort Drum is soliciting a 155mm Video Bore Inspection System (VBIS) scanner and 155mm LBIS, LVDT, VBIS Delivery Unit. The procurement encompasses specialized imaging equipment featuring a high-resolution side-facing camera (12MPixels minimum) capable of 1080p video at 11 frames per second and a down-bore camera (5MPixels minimum) supporting 1080p video at 52 frames per second, along with a self-propelled delivery unit compatible with existing government equipment. Key technical requirements include a 360-degree rotating camera module with centering feet for a 155mm bore, LED lighting with user controls, operating temperature range of 0 to 50 degrees Celsius, and integration with the existing LP-6000 data acquisition instrument using a standard custom cable with 48V PoE power supply. The solicitation emphasizes compatibility with current owned specifications while maintaining support for existing BEMIS laser profiling equipment. The proposal deadline is January 27, 2026, providing a one-week response window from the January 20, 2026 posting date.

No set-aside designation has been applied to this opportunity, meaning it is open to all eligible contractors. The solicitation does not specify an incumbent contractor, award value, or budget range in the available documentation. Performance is to take place at 301 C Street, Yuma, Arizona 85365, with the work classified under NAICS code 334513 (Instruments and Related Products Manufacturing for Measuring, Displaying, and Controlling Industrial Process Variables) and PSC code 6650 (Optical Instruments, Test Equipment, Components and Accessories). While specific quantity requirements are not explicitly stated, the procurement centers on delivering integrated bore inspection capability that enhances artillery tube inspection and measurement operations. The compressed timeline and technical specifications suggest this represents a specialized equipment procurement requiring demonstrated expertise in optical inspection systems and military equipment integration.
