About this file

This is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) issued by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) for a Zeiss Imager M2 microscope system with comprehensive scientific imaging capabilities. The solicitation seeks to procure a complex microscopy package including a motorized stage, 3-channel fluorescence, brightfield illumination, Zen software, and a motorized acquisition toolkit, with a long-term purpose of conducting in-house histology work. The RFQ requires submission by May 14, 2025, with product delivery mandated by close of business on June 30, 2025. The contract is estimated to be valued under $150,000 and will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bid from a Small Business or Veteran-Owned Business.

The pricing structure allows vendors to quote unit prices for 34 separate line items covering various microscope components, cameras, adapters, and software. Payment terms stipulate net 30 days processing after satisfactory delivery and invoice submission. The solicitation includes a 3% bid preference for vendors who do not require employees to sign mandatory arbitration clauses. Submitted bids must include literature and specification brochures, and the microscope system is intended as a long-term tool to internalize histology work currently outsourced by the department. Delivery is specified to the WDFW's 2nd floor IT department in Olympia, Washington, with delivery hours limited to Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
