About this file

This is a Specifications document for a CDN Absolyte Battery Replacement procurement issued by Yosemite National Park's Communications Branch. The National Park Service requires replacement of batteries at two critical CDN (Communications Distribution Network) nodes, specifically: one unit of Part #M8702405007R19AALV–024AGP 05007WL V0 19RRK (24 batteries) and one unit of Part #M8702405013R19ADLV–024AGP 05013WL V0 19RRK (24 batteries). All equipment must be new only, with high capacity design in a compact footprint and polypropylene container and cover as standard (flame retardant UL94 V-0/28% L.O.I. optional). Specified features include a jar-to-cover heat seal with bead smoothing, safety vent with 3-10 psi opening pressure and self-resealing capability, color-coded terminal polarity, heat-sealed post seal with non-corrosive polypropylene-to-polypropylene bond, viscous agent coating on the lead post-to-plastic sleeve interface, modular steel tray, patented positive plate grid alloy suitable for float and cycling applications, adequate space for positive plate growth, high separator compression, and optimized post access for maintenance and battery health assessment.

Delivery shall be made to the Telecommunications Shop at Yosemite National Park, 5083 Foresta Road, El Portal, California 95318, Monday through Friday excluding Federal Holidays between 0800-1600 hours. The period of performance is within 120 days after receipt of order. Hauling restrictions apply: vehicles over 45 feet are prohibited and all other vehicles are subject to one-way controlled traffic 20 miles east of Mariposa (Mariposa County) 24 hours daily due to rockslide repairs; Highway 41 to Wawona may close during inclement weather. Contractors must provide 48 hours' notice to the National Park Service prior to delivery to ensure staff and equipment are present for unloading and acceptance.
