About this file
This is a comprehensive project manual and specifications document for the Orange County Courthouse Escalator Modernization project (Y25-708) in Orlando, Florida. The project involves the complete modernization of six existing escalators within the courthouse, with work to be performed using three installation teams simultaneously. The solicitation was issued by Orange County's Procurement Division, with sealed bids to be accepted electronically through the OpenGov e-Procurement Platform until 4:00 pm EST on Thursday, November 7, 2024. The project requires modernizing all escalators to retain the existing truss structure while replacing internal components, with specific requirements including maintaining the current rise, speed, and arrangement, and implementing safety and operational upgrades.
The estimated project cost is $5,657,495.00, with work to be completed after normal business hours (6:00 pm to 6:00 am) and potentially on weekends. The contractor must provide a minimum of 50 working hours per week per installation team and ensure minimal disruption to courthouse operations. The escalator modernization includes replacing step bands, tracks, drive systems, handrails, and implementing various safety features and energy-conservation modes. Bidders are required to create a free account on the OpenGov platform to submit responses, with technical support available via chat, email, and phone. Questions regarding the solicitation must be submitted by Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 4:00 pm EST through the platform's question and answer module.
