About this file
The document is a solicitation from Orange County, Florida for cleaning services for air quality control towers at the Eastern Regional Water Supply Facility. The county is seeking a contractor to clean 10 towers twice annually (in March and September) using specialized chemical cleaning processes. The cleaning involves removing calcium buildup from plastic media inside towers that are used to remove hydrogen sulfide gas from water treatment systems. Vendors interested in responding must contact Michelle Fort by email no later than 5:00 PM Eastern time on Monday, August 7, 2025. Currently, Yave Yire Enterprises, Inc. is identified as the only known vendor meeting the county's requirements.

Orange County, Florida is interested in procuring services for the Cleaning Air Quality Control Towers. OVERVIEW
Orange County Utilities is responsible for maintaining air quality control towers at the Eastern Regional Water Supply Facility 9100 Curry Ford Road Orlando, FL 32825. A contractor will clean all 10 towers at this location twice a year—once in March and once in September.
BACKGROUND
The facility uses a system to clean drinking water by removing hydrogen sulfide gas.
The process is as follows:
• Water is sprayed from the top of special towers while air is blown in from the bottom.
• This process removes hydrogen sulfide from the water and pushes it into the air.
• That air is then cleaned in separate towers (air quality control towers), where water with a high pH (11.0–11.5) is used to pull the hydrogen sulfide out of the air.
• Sodium hydroxide is added to raise the water’s pH, which helps trap the gas.
However, this process causes calcium to build up on plastic media inside the towers. If not cleaned, the buildup can reduce performance or even damage the system. The towers contain thousands of small plastic balls to help with air-water contact and mist eliminators to prevent corrosive mist from escaping.
