About this file
This document is a Specifications/Scope of Services for Liquid Polymer procurement by Orange County, Florida, specifically for the Orange County Wastewater Treatment Facility and Northwest Water Reclamation Facility. The contract seeks a liquid polymer product to be used as a coagulant for processing biosolids, with the county currently using a single polymer for coagulation, thickening, and dewatering solids. The contractor will provide liquid polymer by the pound, with specific operational requirements including a sludge feed rate up to 250 GPM, biosolids concentration of 0.8% to 1.2%, and dewatered biosolids at a minimum of 14%.
The specifications outline strict performance requirements for the polymer, including no toxic side effects, solids recovery of at least 95%, and operational parameters for belt filter presses with hydraulic belt tension between 325-400 psi. The polymer must enable presses to operate without cake emerging at belt edges, indicating a need for precise material properties and performance. While specific pricing is not detailed in this document, the requirements suggest a technical, performance-driven procurement process focused on achieving specific wastewater treatment and biosolids management objectives.
