About this file

This document is a comprehensive technical specifications file for the University Shores Water and Sewer Improvements Package No. 4 project, issued by Orange County Utilities in Florida. The project involves extensive water and wastewater infrastructure improvements, including the construction of approximately 24,848 linear feet of water mains (ranging from 4-inch to 12-inch diameter), replacement/installation of 9,078 linear feet of sanitary sewer mains (8-inch and 10-inch diameter), point repairs, manhole rehabilitation, lateral replacements and lining, and service line work. The project is scheduled for bid submission on February 7, 2023, with an estimated total project cost of $19,829,801.53. The work will be conducted within five adjacent utility service areas and requires maintaining continuous operation of existing utility lines throughout construction.

The technical specifications detail comprehensive requirements for materials, installation methods, testing, documentation, and quality control, with specific provisions for erosion control, traffic maintenance, public information management, and post-construction documentation. Funding appears to be through Orange County, with specific technical and performance standards mandated through detailed specifications covering everything from pipe materials and installation to video inspection protocols and warranty requirements. The project includes significant infrastructure rehabilitation and replacement, emphasizing modernization of water and wastewater systems in the University Shores area, with strict adherence to Orange County Utilities' standards and construction specifications.

Any existing utilities damaged in any way by the Contractor shall be 22 restored or replaced by the Contractor at his expense as directed by the County. Any 23 existing facilities, which require operation to facilitate repairs, shall be operated only 24 by the owner of the respective utility. 25

5. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to ensure that all utility and/or poles, the 26 stability of which may be endangered by the proximity of excavation, be temporarily 27 stayed and/or shored in position while work proceeds in the vicinity of the pole and 28 that the utility or other companies concerned be given reasonable advance notice of 29 any such excavation. 30
