About this file
The document is a Salient Characteristics specification for an XCOMM Training Communication Tent issued by the Department of the Air Force on 26 March 2025. The specification requires a single deployable communication tent with precise dimensional requirements of 19-20 feet wide, 28-35 feet long, and 6-10 feet high, weighing no more than 1,000 pounds. The tent must provide critical functionality including rapid deployment within 4 hours, withstanding extreme weather conditions (50 MPH wind gusts, 12 inches of daily rain), and supporting external climate control through sealable cable access points.
The tent must be modular, compatible with military transport like C-130 aircraft and tactical vehicles, and provide at least 532 square feet of usable space for communication equipment and operators. It requires the ability to accept external power sources and must comply with Department of Defense Test Method Standard MIL-STD-810G for durability and operational performance. Vendors have until 9 May 2025 at 1:00 PM CDT to submit written questions to the Contract Specialist A1C Ty Le and Contracting Officer Kimberley L. Alvarez, with answers to be posted on SAM.gov.

XCOMM Training Tent Salient Characteristics
The deployable communication tent must meet the following critical requirements:
Quantity: 1
Size: Between 19-20 feet in width, 28-35 feet in length, and 6-10 feet in height.
Functionality: Provide stability against inclement weather, mobility for easy transportation, and scalability to expand or shrink the tent footprint for communication equipment deployment.
Performance: Must support rapid deployment (within 4 hours), withstand extreme windy and rainy conditions (at least 50 Mph wind gusts and 12 inches of rain per day), needs to have at least one sealable inlet and one sealable outlet access points anywhere on exterior walls, in order to run cables through to support external climate control for personnel and equipment.
Physical Characteristics: Lightweight (total weight not exceeding 1000 pounds), modular (individual components can be team carried and easily assembled), and compatible with standard military transport (e.g., C-130 aircraft, tactical vehicles). The tent must have the ability to accept an external power source through at least one sealable access point anywhere on the exterior walls and have at least 532 square feet of usable space for communication gear and operators.
Compliance: Must meet Department of Defense Test Method Standard (MIL-STD-810G) for durability and operational performance.
