About this file
The document is a Worker Protection and Investment Certification Form (BOP-2201) issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, specifically focusing on ensuring worker safety and legal compliance across state contracts. The form requires contractors and grantees to certify their adherence to thirteen specific state labor and workforce safety laws, which include regulations surrounding workplace misclassification, child labor, minimum wage, prevailing wage, equal pay, medical examinations, seasonal farm labor, wage collection, and industry-specific employment standards.
The certification carries significant legal implications, with potential penalties for false reporting including contract termination and a three-year prohibition from bidding on state contracts. Contractors must sign and affirm their compliance with these labor laws, understanding that they are legally obligated to immediately report any changes in their compliance status to the purchasing agency. The form was published on February 4, 2022, and requires the signature, printed name, title, and organizational affiliation of the certifying official, with the understanding that providing false information could result in legal consequences under Pennsylvania's unsworn falsification statute.
