About this file
This is an Addendum #1 Revision document for the City of Jackson, Michigan's Withington Park Civil War Monument Restoration project. The City is soliciting qualified stone conservationists to provide restoration and preservation services for the "In Defense of the Flag" monument, a bronze and granite statue originally dedicated to Jackson in 1904. Contractors must demonstrate a minimum of five years of experience in stone evaluation, consolidation, preservation of original materials, material analysis, cleaning, repairs, protective coverings, documentation of existing conditions, and final treatment reporting. All work must comply with the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works' Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Practice, as well as the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Preservation. Possession of Fellow or Professional Affiliate status with the American Institute of Conservators of Historic and Artistic Works is preferred for prequalification purposes.
The addendum revision modifies specific terms or requirements from the original solicitation document. Prospective bidders should review this addendum in conjunction with the primary contract opportunity documents to ensure full compliance with all current specifications and requirements. Contractors meeting the qualification criteria are encouraged to submit comprehensive proposals detailing their relevant experience, methodology, timeline, and pricing for the monument restoration work.
