About this file
This document is a detailed engineering design plan from the City of New Haven Department of Engineering for the Wilbur Cross High School Tennis and Pickleball Courts renovation project. The project involves comprehensive court surface rehabilitation, including removing existing posts and footings, installing new geotextile membrane, applying bituminous concrete surface courses, and implementing a CSS Plexipave court system. The design specifies technical details for court pavement, net posts, center strap anchors, and fence reinstallation, with specific dimensions and materials outlined for both tennis and pickleball court configurations.
The design plan provides a systematic basis of design that includes court patch binder for existing surface cracks, geotextile membrane installation, bituminous concrete layers, acrylic resurfacer application, and line painting. Structural components will feature PVC-sleeved posts, concrete footings, and chain-link fencing with black PVC finish. The technical specifications call for high-quality materials, including concrete with a minimum 3000 psi strength, steel framework with specific coating requirements, and precise installation guidelines for court infrastructure. The project appears to be a comprehensive renovation aimed at upgrading the existing sports facilities at Wilbur Cross High School.
