About this file
This document is a Special Provisions specification for the Wilbur Cross High School Tennis and Pickleball Courts Replacement project, issued by the City of New Haven in August 2025. The project involves replacing the existing tennis and pickleball courts, which includes comprehensive work on court surfaces, fencing, and associated infrastructure. The specification covers multiple technical sections including play field equipment and structures, asphalt paving, and chain link fences and gates. The project timeline indicates construction is planned for the fall of 2025, with potential completion extending to spring 2026 depending on construction timing and weather conditions.
The technical specifications provide detailed requirements for materials and installation, emphasizing compliance with various standards such as ASTM, CTDOT, and sports association guidelines. Key components include tennis and pickleball post and net systems conforming to USA Pickleball Association and Intercollegiate Tennis Association rules, chain-link fencing with specific material and installation requirements, and asphalt paving with precise material and application specifications. The project will utilize a California Sports Surfaces coating system, and the site is an active public area that must maintain access throughout construction. The contractor will be responsible for protecting adjacent surfaces, following all federal, state, and local regulations, and ensuring high-quality installation of all project components.
