Questions and Answers
No. Questions Answers 1 Can you confirm the total quantity of cameras?
2 There is not a recorder/server listed in the equipment list, yet there is a 30 day requirement for recordings. Please clarify?
This is no longer a requirement.
3 For Task 2- It says that we need to retain decommissioned video for 30 days. Does that is just holding onto old hardware?
This is no longer a requirement.
4 What is being used for storage? I see 30 days is required for 2MP 30FPS, don't see an NVR in the equipment list. Does this need to be added to the quote?
An existing video storage system.
No additional equipment is needed for this solicitation.
5 "Cameras can be pulled-up once on top of roof" Does this mean literally up from the ground to the roof from the outside?
Cameras are recessed below the edge of the roof and can be accessed from the roof by someone on the roof pulling manually them
up. Cameras can be pulled up from their mounted locations.
6 Is the existing fiber being used? Meaning are we switching out one camera at a time, implementing the new system while keeping the existing system up and online. Will the cabling contractor do their splicing and testing as the new cameras are deployed? If so, how many hours per camera do they estimate? Are network settings being done at the same time? Will time need to be factored in per camera as they are brought up online? - Ultimately, will I need to factor an amount of hours for us to wait for other people to complete tasks per device?
Existing fiber will be re-used.
During camera replacement we expect video loss to occur.
Cabling at the camera will take place when coordinated with the camera installer. Task 2 tasks would need to be in progress or completed. We anticipate 1-2 hours per location is needed for the fiber re-termination at the camera and head ends. We anticipate a camera will be down 3 hours total during the removal and replacement process.
Camera network settings can be entered prior to or after deployment.
7 Can IP addressing requirements be provided so they can be entered into each device prior to deployment?
IP Addressing information will be provided to the awardee
8 How is this being viewed? Security person and a monitor local access or network access? Access remotely? I don't see anything included for getting video from the cameras to a monitoring station?
Via a local existing BVMS system.
The Office of Security Team will be available for video verification.
9 Aside from being responsible for confirming operation, eg. live video, PTZ control, recorded video present; are we responsible for setting up advanced recording? Ai function, analytics?
No advanced recording, AI or Analytic settings required.
Questions and Answers
10 What are the terms? Looking at minimum $85k for equipment, just need to plan that part.
Lowest Price, Technically Acceptable
11 This is a direct swap from old Bosch to New Bosch, assuming the connectors are the same, is the fiber optic company going to have to be that involved?
Just trying to figure out timing for this, with two people, we could be done in a day, installing cameras, maybe two. But having to go through two other trades doing what they have to do it could turn this into an eight day project.
Cabling contractor will be heavily involved for all camera data connection(s). Power and other peripherals (if any) would be camera installer responsibility.
Please plan on 2-3 cameras per day.
If a camera is started it is expected to be completed before COB on the same day.
12 Are the cameras being installed to an existing NVR or a new NVR? If using an existing NVR, please provide the model number that the cameras will be programmed to.
An existing video storage system. Storage system information will not be provided.
13 If using an existing NVR, does the existing NVR have ports able to support IP Cameras?
The existing video storage system can support the cameras called out in this solicitation
14 The programming of all cameras will be performed by the DOT? Just want to confirm.
Confirmed. Besides the installer inputting the IP address information prior to or during deployment all other programming will be performed by DOT Office of Security.
15 The warranty is that on the equipment that is being installed, is this just for the parts that are in the BOM and will be supplied by the vendor? If using an existing NVR, is the warranty part of this? If so please provide details about the NVR – Age, make and model #
Please warranty the physical parts identified in Task 1.
Existing video storage system does not need to be included.
16 Will each camera location have a 110 Volts of power in the event it is needed?
12 of the 13 locations has 110V. The garage camera will utilize POE.
17 The boxes that are in existence with the wires in it that we were given pictures of during the site walk, we will reuse these existing boxes?
The large outer box will be re-used.
The small inner box (VG4-A-PSU1 Remote Power Unit) could potentially be re-used. New ones need to be purchased still and will become spares if determined they aren’t needed during the installation process
18 The 2 new cameras to be installed, they are located on the roof and will wires already be run and the sports marked off before the project begins?
2 fixed cameras are being installed replacing the two existing PTZ cameras at the location.
The equipment to complete this was identified in tasks 1 and task 2
