The checklist does not relieve bidders of any of their responsibilities to complete any portion of the bid process, as it is only meant to assist.
The purpose of a walk-through is to allow bidders an opportunity to examine the work site before bidding in order to acquire a better knowledge of the area(s) and/or specific equipment affecting the work which may not be particularly described herein.
To secure gate clearance for admittance into any institution/facility, all bidders are required to contact the individual institution/facility on the schedule and provide the following information for the representative(s) that will be attending the walk-through:
· Complete name;
· Date of birth; and
· Valid driver's license or State DMV identification card number
After the institution/facility has completed the gate clearance process and bidders and their representative(s) are scheduled to attend a walk-through, they must bring a valid driver’s license or State DMV identification card in order to be admitted onto institution/facility grounds.
Clothing Restrictions: While on institution/facility grounds, bidders and their representative(s) shall be professionally and appropriately dressed in clothing distinct from that worn by inmates at the institution. Specifically, blue denim pants and blue chambray shirts, orange/red/yellow/white/chartreuse jumpsuits and/or yellow rainwear shall not be worn onto institution grounds, as this is inmate attire. The bidder should contact the institution regarding clothing restrictions prior to requiring access to the institution/facility to ensure compliance.
Electronic Devices: Electronic and communication devices such as pagers, cell phones, cameras/micro-cameras, and/or sound recording devices are not permitted on institution/facility grounds and must be left in the bidder’s and/or their representative’s locked vehicle. None of these devices are allowed on institution/facility grounds.
Tobacco-Free Environment: Pursuant to Penal Code Section 5030.1, the use of tobacco products by any person on the grounds of any institution or facility under the jurisdiction of the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation is prohibited.
COVID-19 Requirements Visitors, vendors, volunteers, and/or staff are required to respond to any active preventative screening measures in place at each CDCR institution/facility to decrease the spread of COVID-19; therefore, be advised that you and/or your employees will be required to adhere to this requirement. Contact the institution/facility prior to the walk-through for additional details.
