About this file

This document is a set of Questions and Answers (Q&A) related to Amendment 0001 for Solicitation W91ZRU24R0020 for the Joint Operations Center (JOC) Audio requirement. The key details are:

The solicitation is seeking a contractor to provide a fixed audio system that integrates with current hardware and software. This includes 8 wireless boundary microphones with combined audio sent via USB, as well as 8 wired ceiling microphones with audio broadcast to room speakers. The solicitation also requires troubleshooting/repair of an Extron video distribution system in Room E101, and the provision of 86-inch TVs. The contract will be awarded by the Department of the Army, Alaska Army National Guard.

The Q&A clarifies that the compatible displays referenced will use an HDMI signal, rather than RJ45 (DTP). The compatibility requirement is to ensure the displays work with military computers, as the commercial versions of Microsoft Windows have features not available in the military version.

Questions and Answers:

22 Aug 24

Q1. I see in your request to use a compatible display, but I don’t see the video hardware used (other than I assume it’s Extron). Is it being sent by RJ45 (DTP signal) or is it over HDMI. To keep the cost down I know of compatible displays we have used with success in Extron environments. It is asked for proof of compatibility but I don’t know what we are needing to be compatible with.

A1. The answer would be via HDMI signal. The compatible displays will be used as separate displays outside of a video distribution system. The compatibility part is for military computers (Air and Army) where we do not have the ability to install 3rd party software to make some touch screens work properly. There are also sometimes features that are part of the commercial version of Microsoft Windows that will allow for certain touch screens to work but are not available to the Military version of Microsoft Windows that we do not have the ability to change.
