Questions and Answers for the Laundry Service Q1) Are there 2 locations: Camp Nett and Rancy Military Reservation?
A1) Yes, the two locations will be Camp Nett (38 smith street Niantic CT) and Stones Ranch (10 Stone Ranch Rd, East Lyme, Ct - Milk House area).
Q2) The PWS mentions pickup for 50 candidates and drop-off for 50 candidates daily between July 13–24, 2025. Are we expected to pick up and drop off for all 100 candidates each day, or is service staggered between two groups (e.g., 50 per group on alternating days)?
A2) Service staggered between two groups.
Q3) Is the intention for same-day service, meaning pickup and return of the same laundry on the same day?
A3) Intent is first day to pick up for 50 candidates and the next day drop off the original 50 candidates and pick up the next group of 50 candidates. This will be the rotation for the rest of the contract.
Q4) If pickup is required by 0630, should the cleaned laundry be returned by 0800 the same morning, or is it returned the following day by 0800?
A4) Let’s do pick up and drop off at 0800 so that way there’s not two conflicting times.
Q5) Should we anticipate two separate pickup/drop-off locations (Camp Nett and SRMR), or will there be one consolidated point each day?
A5) There will be days the candidates are out on the field (July 15-19th & 21) those will be the only days pick up and drop off will be at SRMR.
Q6) The PWS mentions accountability for individual items. Will each candidate have pre-labeled bags or itemized laundry lists for tracking purposes, or is the contractor responsible for tagging and tracking?
A6) Candidates will label their individual bags.
Q7) Are weekend pickups/deliveries (July 13 and July 19–20) expected as part of the daily laundry service?
A7) Weekends are expected Q8) I would like to request clarification regarding the expected weight or volume of laundry per candidate laundry bag and for the linen services (pillowcases and flat sheets).
A8) There is no historical data on weight estimates. However, I discussed these questions with the course manager, and we project that each candidate will have an average of 5lbs of laundry. Also, pillowcases and flat sheets are for twin size beds pillowcases should be no more than .50 lb per pillowcases, and 1.5lbs per flat sheets.
Q9) Since you are required to be within 30 mins of the facility, would it be possible to be 45 mins away to still meet requirements?
A9) Yes it can be considered. But location does matter.
Q10) Please confirm that a custom pricing will surface to be considered for a proposal submission.
A10) I don’t think I understand your question. But the quote you provide is what the award will be. This is a firm fixed price award. This is not an adjustable award. The quote you provide is what you will get paid.
The prime contractor must be able to come to the site and make any corrections that need to be made.
