About this file
This is a Product Description document detailing requirements for one Keyence Laser-based Elemental Analyzer to be purchased by the Chemical Sampling and Analysis Branch (CSAB) laboratory at Aberdeen Test Center. The analyzer will attach to an existing VHX microscope purchased in 2024 and must perform non-destructive elemental analysis with AI-based material identification capabilities.
The equipment specifications include laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy supporting elements H1 to U92, Nd:YAG laser type at 355nm wavelength, observation magnification of 300x to 1000x, and Class 1 laser safety rating. Key performance requirements include one-click elemental analysis, seamless transition between observation and analysis modes, no pre-processing or vacuum requirements, and real-time analysis capabilities. Delivery and installation are required within 30 days after contract award at the Aberdeen Test Center in Maryland. The purchase was endorsed by YPG and NATICK Army organizations following vendor demonstrations.
