Queson 1: Paragraph 6.9B Central Conductors

Will the government provide the length of the central conductors needed and maximum diameter of the spacers used for the central conductors to fit the following cannon tubes:

M1299, M776, M284, M256, M20 and M137

Response 1: The length of conductors will be determined by the design of the head and tail stock, and how the cannon tube sits on the machine. M1299 tubes are approximately 360” long with 6” diameter spacers, M776 and M284 tubes approximately 240” long with 5.75” spacers, M256 tubes are approximately 210” long with 4.5” spacers, M35 tubes are approximately 215” long with 4” spacers, M20 and M137 tubes approximately 130” long with 4” diameter spacers. The diameter of the conductor should be appropriate for the current used. Conductors currently in use, and which would be appropriate are 2.5”ID 0.65 wall thickness copper with lengths varying from 15 to 26.

Queson 2: What is the height clearance below the lowest point of the bridge crane to the floor in the planned locaon of the gun tube unit?

Response 2: Approximately 14.

Queson 3: What is the li capacity of the bridge crane that will be used to transport the new unit into place?

Response 3: 10 ton

Queson 4: Is there any training requirement for operators or maintenance personnel once the new system is in place and operaonal?

Response 4: No

Queson 5: Will the government consider progress payments based on specific milestones for this RFQ?

Response 5: At this me, the government does not consider progress payments based on specific milestones for this solicitaon.
