Question and Answer UPS Solicitation
1. Question: In the PWS Appendix B, section 8 Maintenance Services its states " One 5x8 UPS Preventative Maintenance Visit and One 5x8 Battery Preventative Maintenance Visit – UPS units " but the pricing sheet states " frequency" UPS's quarterly and batteries semi-annually". What pricing are you looking for one PM a year or 4 pm's a year?
ANSWER: Frequency would be "UPS's Quarterly and Batteries Semi-Annually", so 4 PM's a year for the UPS's and only two PM's a year for Batteries.
2. Question: I understand the contract to be PM ONLY with a guaranteed 8hr response time, and tech support as needed. Looking at 8.0 of Appendix B. States One 5x8 Preventative Maintenance Visit, however they pricing sheet is showing Quarterly for the UPS’s and Semi-annual for the batteries – Please clarify.
ANSWER: The pricing sheet is correct, Quarterly for the UPS's and Semi-Annual for the Batteries.
3. Question: Under the Electronics Correct Maintenance Coverage it states: “Eaton 93PM, 9390 and 9395 UPS models have a special policy on capacitor replacements: DC link capacitors are eligible for inspection and repair at no extra charge (excludes AC capacitors).” In our experience, we only change out the AC caps on these units, and have not hear of the free inspection and repair. Please clarify the expectation.
ANSWER: this is an exclusion for these type of UPS Models, due to the high possibility of prior problems with the capacitors. This has since been fixed by the manufacture (Eaton). Only changing out the AC Caps is the preferred suggested Maintenance process. It's important to understand that we will be looking for the recommended Maintenance that is required by the Manufacture of the equipment.
4. Question: Pricing sheet – Asking for pricing on 1 battery for EE234CAB10 – We need to know the make and model of the battery to be able to provide a price.
