Please note that some of the answers to questions regarding security clearances were incorrect. Please see the corrected answers below.

1) The opportunity requires contract personnel to have TS Clearance, but it’s not requiring a facility clearance for the company. Is a TS Facility Clearance is needed to maintain the TS Clearance of the personnel that are performing on the contract? If someone is hired that already has the TS clearance, they will lose their TS status without our company having the ability to sponsor them.

Answer: The question is correct. COMPANY = TS FCL Personnel = TS PCL

2) If the USG requires candidates to have any type, or level, security clearance, it is a Classified Contract, and a DD Form 254, or an equivalent document, must be issued at that level. That document must clearly state that personnel working the contract will require access to classified information in the performance of their contract duties.

Answer: Correct, we are working with the Security office to generate the form.

3) In order to have access to “Government internet web sites that help track the status of the employee’s security clearance and eligibility for Sensitive Compartment (sic) Information clearance,” an individual (security manager) would require at least a “S” Level security clearance. In order for an individual (contractor) to have a security clearance, the owning (or servicing) company must have an FCL at least to that level.

Answer: Company must have a TS FCL at the time of the award. Personal must be eligible for TZ at time of award.

4) A company a “S” level FCL for example, would technically be unable to hold, or pass, anyone’s clearance at the “TS” Level. Anyone with an active “TS” would be downgraded and restricted to “S” by virtue of the company’s level of FCL. The company can hold them but, only at the “S” Level.

Answer: Correct
