About this file
This is a Question and Answer document for an HPE storage support renewal contract opportunity. The Government seeks one year of support entitlement (not replacement hardware) for HPE storage systems located at Fort Shafter, Hawaii, covering two HPE NS AF60 arrays (serial numbers 5UM217001C and 5UM217001B), two HPE NS AF40/60/80 92TB FIO Flash Bundles (P/N Q8G62B), and six HPE NS 2x25GbE 2p SFP28 FIO Adapter Kits (P/N R3Q00A). The existing maintenance contract expired August 13, 2026. The period of performance runs from August 14, 2026 through August 13, 2027, with a solicitation due date of August 18, 2026 at 1200 Eastern Standard Time. All equipment is currently fully operational with no failed components.
HPE-authorized resellers may quote genuine HPE-branded Tech Care Essential with Defective Media Retention to satisfy the "no third parties" requirement in Section A. The Government will accept pricing that includes any HPE reinstatement fees necessary to restore lapsed coverage. The clause DFARS 252.211-7003 (Item Unique Identification and Valuation) is not applicable to this award. The specific serial numbers for the Q8G62B and R3Q00A components require physical data center access and were not immediately available; the Government has two SAID identifiers (1051 5361 2051 and 1051 5361 3464) but is uncertain which applies to the storage equipment. Hardware response will be provided onsite at Fort Shafter, Hawaii.

Question And Answer
Technical Questions:
The Salient Characteristics provide serial numbers for the two Q8H42A base arrays only.
Please provide the serial numbers for the two Q8G62B 92TB FIO Flash Bundles and the six R3Q00A 2x25GbE adapter kits, along with the existing HPE support agreement or contract ID. HPE prices renewals against the existing agreement and serials, and quotes cannot be built accurately without them.
Answer: Q8H42A SN: Serial numbers for Q8G62B and R3Q00A will require physical data center access and cannot be located immediately. I have two SAID’s – not sure which one was for the storage: 1051 5361 2051, 1051 5361 3464
Please confirm whether coverage on the listed assets has lapsed or will lapse before award. If the OEM assesses reinstatement or inspection fees to restore contiguous coverage, should those fees be included in the CLIN pricing?
Answer: The maintenance contract recently expired August 13th, 2026 and we were trying to get it awarded prior to expiration.
CLIN 0002 lists a quantity of two (2) HPE NS AF40/60/80 92TB FIO Flash Bundles (P/N Q8G62B) and CLIN 0003 lists six (6) HPE NS 2x25GbE 2p SFP28 FIO Adapter Kits (P/N R3Q00A). Please confirm the Government is purchasing support entitlement for that quantity of installed components and is not purchasing replacement hardware under those CLINs.
Answer: Government is only seeking support entitlement – not replacement hardware.
Are the two HPE NS AF60 arrays (serial numbers 5UM217001C and 5UM217001B) currently under an active HPE support agreement, or has that coverage lapsed? If coverage has lapsed, will the Government accept a price that includes any HPE reinstatement fee required to restore entitlement, or does the Government intend that fee to be excluded?
Answer: The maintenance contract recently expired August 13th, 2026 and we were trying to get it awarded prior to expiration.
Are the systems that need support all fully operational at this time with no failed components?
Answer: The systems are all fully operational at this time with no failed components.
Has the current maintenance contract expired?
Answer: The maintenance contract recently expired August 13th, 2026.
Who won the last contract for support?
Answer: Unknown. The equipment was fielded by a Program Manager that later passed o the support account.
How many years of support do you require?
Answer: One year
Contracting Questions:
Section A states "Support Renewals - NO THIRD PARTIES WILL BE ACCEPTED." Please confirm whether an HPE-authorized reseller quoting genuine HPE-branded Tech Care Essential with Defective Media Retention satisfies this requirement, or whether the Government requires a support agreement placed directly by HPE.
Answer: Yes, Authorized Resellers may quote.
The Salient Characteristics state a period of performance of 08/14/2026 through 08/13/2027. Section B and Section F state 24 August 2026 through 23 August 2027, with delivery on or before 24 August 2026. Please confirm which period governs.
Answer: The Period of Performance is 14 August 2026 – 13 August 2027
Section A states quotes are due 18 August 2026 not later than 1000 local AZ time; block 8 of the SF 1449 states 12:00 PM. Please confirm the time of checking.
Answer: The solicitation due date is 18 August 1200 Eastern Standard Time
DFARS 252.211-7003, Item Unique Identification and Valuation, is incorporated at Section I, but this requirement delivers support entitlements rather than marked end items. Please confirm the clause is not applicable to this award.
Answer: Not Applicable 252.211-7003
Please confirm the Government's required onsite hardware response level for the Fort Shafter, HI location so that our quoted service tier matches the requirement.
