1. In the Salient characteristics it lists a lexan cover. This is not needed if insulated connectors and safety shields integrated into the rectifiers and inverters. This was confirmed in discussion on the walk through. Can we get a confirmation that safety shielded equipment is acceptable regarding the lexan cover and will not put us in non-compliance?
Safety Shielding is acceptable
2. Equipment rack or cabinet is specified in the Salient Characteristics.
We identified that the existing rack and inverter is down and the rack could be utilized. If we use this cost savings we do not want to be penalized for noncompliance. Please agree that existing space is acceptable to use next to the fuse cabinet.
Yes, the rack where the current inverter is can be reused.
3. The drawing of the fuse configuration and system diagram was only in paper form at the walk through. Could we all please have a digital copy of that drawing?
Digital Copy of the drawing is attached
4. If cost effective, we would like permission to replace the entire battery bank rack in building 2045. Existing alarms are obviously to be restored.
If the new rack would accommodate the new batteries safely there wouldn't be an issue as long as existing space is used and no interruption of service is incurred.
5. In the building 4132 specs it calls out for TEO2XCS104X Surge
Suppressor. Didn’t see in the design where that would be applicable. We are not replacing the transfer switch which has surge suppression. If the surge suppression is for the output of the inverter we have very little need of that. The feed to the inverter is battery fed and rectified controlled. Could we get clarification? Suggest leaving this cost adding item out.
Based on the explanation I would agree.
6. No mention is made of integrating SNMP interfaces. Is this a requirement? Most controllers today have a IP interface. If we are to program that interface with an IP configuration it can be done but without network certification it can’t be put onto NIPRNET. It will need to be a mini “lab network” for monitoring.
Current alarming for the power plant is conducted via the NT6C25BB
Conventional Controller to Scan points in the switch. We would be expecting the current alarming to remain the same as all of our alarming systems are not being changed. I've included a listing of all scan points. Those on concern are the power and DITTO alarms.
7. It is not noted that we are asked to interface to the inverter breaker
Panel on the SE wall. This will not work. The rectifiers and inverter
Power supply can’t be plugged into the panel that provides its own power.
We need 3 phase as in the other panel next to it. I am concerned though because that is only a 125 amp panel and 208V. The rectifiers and inverters can surge over half of that capacity. I’m concerned the current power panel isn’t sufficient for the current needs once the new is added. Is this liability left upon us? What I am really asking for is responsibility to be removed from us to determine if that panel has proper overall capacity. Our new equipment won’t take more than that past but our concern is noted.
I don't quite understand what is being said. If they need in install a new panel and run lines to existing locations were protected power is located I would assume that is acceptable.
8. How many battery strings were in building 4132? One each -48V string?
In B-4132 we have 3 strings @ -48VDC but there is no work being done on the batteries in B-4132
9. What is the amp capacity of the string in 4132?
B-4132 Has an 800 Amp power plant. Currently 4 x 200 Amp Rectifiers
