Q&A (Part II)
Vendor RFIs in reference to solicitation W91QVP-24-Q-5003 (Crane)
1. Could you please clarify: a) Will the military be providing the lift plan? b) Will the military be providing personnel to secure items for lifting and hoisting?
Answer: The military will have people to attach the lifting provisions to the platforms lifting points and tell the crane operator where to place the items being moved.
2. Could you please confirm a) The number of crane operators required b) Whether we need to provide riggers, and if so, how many Answer: 1x Operator unless your policy is different (last year the crane operators had two people). You do not need to provide riggers, just lifting provision.
3. Could you please confirm who is responsible for providing the lift plan for each operation?
Answer: Not sure what a lift plan is. Last year we had our personnel tell the crane operators when and where to pick up the equipment.
4. The original scope of work mentioned that all personnel would be needed to support rigging, lifting, and hoisting. However, the military is providing a rigging detail. Could you please clarify the extent of our personnel responsibilities in light of this?
Answer: Last year the company we used had two operators, one of the operators made sure the rigging was done properly and guided the crane operator from the ground. However, if you only send one operator our military personnel can do this as well.
