About this file

This document contains questions and answers regarding chemical products required for a wastewater treatment plant contract opportunity with the Department of the Army Materiel Command Mission and Installation Contracting Command Fort Sam Houston. The solicitation seeks bulk chemicals for wastewater treatment at Fort Detrick, including nitrogen reduction carbon source solution, phosphorus control solution, and coagulation liquid polymers for winter and summer blends. While specific brand names are listed in the solicitation, the answers clarify that the chemical needs only mirror the salient characteristics in the solicitation and that the brand name does not matter. Equivalent products can be used to meet the phosphorus control and coagulation polymer requirements.

I have been unable to find or source the “Mar Floc 30 or Mar Floc 34”. My contacts have not hear of that brand name as well.

Answers Here are update to your question(s) – Posted in SAM.gov:

All chemical needs to simply mirror the WWTP Chemical (Salient) Characteristics section of the solicitation for each chemical. Chemical name does not matter.

Phosphorous Control Solution (a.k.a. Aluminum Chlorohydrate); Coagulation Liquid Polymer – “Winter Blend” (a.k.a. MarFloc 30); Coagulation Liquid Polymer.
