Canadian Soil Sampling Solicitation

Interested Vendor Questions and Government Answers

QUESTION 1 (asked multiple ways by multiple vendors): Is this a new requirement or is there an incumbent contractor?

ANSWER 1: This is a new requirement with no incumbent contractor.

QUESTION 2: Can you provide a link or some screen shots of the model that has been developed thus far?

ANSWER 2: The model is not far along enough in development that there is anything to share at this time. However, it is noted that this advertised requirement does not involve any development or other interactions with the model. The government research team is performing those tasks. This advertised requirement is just for the collection and delivery of soil data.

QUESTION 3: How would you like the titled proposal submitted?

ANSWER 3: All proposals must be submitted via email to CERL-CT-Quotes@usace.army.mil. It is suggested the email be titled with the applicable solicitation number (W9132T24Q0019) and/or with the applicable requirement title (Canadian Soil Sampling)

QUESTIONS 4-7:

•Are work permits required for employees from Canada/Alberta or from outside of Canada? If so, how long to these take to get?

•Does the contractor need a business license (or similar) to work in Canada/Alberta?

•Is there any involvement with the Canadian government (fed or provincial)? If so, are there employee license/certification requirements.

•Sampling sites will likely be on Crown Lands. Are there any permitting/access issues anticipated? To coordinate access, is coordination with lessees, such as logging companies, anticipated?

ANSWER 4-7:

The Government team has no current process in place for acquiring access to the lands. It would be the responsibility of the Awardee, to determine what would be required to accomplish the tasking and performing accordingly. There is no involvement with the Canadian government for Alberta data collection.
