SUMMARY OF CHANGES

SECTION A - SOLICITATION/CONTRACT FORM

The required response date/time has changed from 18-Aug-2022 12:00 PM to 23-Aug-2022 12:00 PM.

SECTION C - DESCRIPTIONS AND SPECIFICATIONS

The following have been modified:

DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT

DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT

MATERIALS LAB DUST MITIGATION SYSTEM

Background:

The Engineer Research Development Center (ERDC) Additive Construction (AC) program at ERDC-Champaign (CERL) utilizes cutting-edge, automated 3D printing capabilities to construct a multitude of designs to include facilities, gap crossings, and obstacles using locally available cement and aggregate materials. A primary task includes testing of 3D printing materials, which includes aggregate testing (sieve analysis, particle characterization), mortar and concrete mixing and fresh material assessment. To ensure proper testing ERDC- CERL is upgrading the materials testing facility, which includes new modular enclosed spaces for aggregate, mortar, and concrete testing. Testing of aggregates and mixing procedures often results in the production of airborne dust particles, which require strategies to remove the dust to prevent inhalation by researchers in proximity to these activities. To mitigate dust from materials testing and mixing, ERDC-CERL requires dust mitigation equipment to remove the airborne dust from workspaces. The sections below define the Materials Lab Dust Mitigation System Requirements (Section 1), and the Installation and Training Requirements (Section

2) to be supplied by the contractor.

1. Dust Mitigation Requirements:

1.1. Must be designed to handle airborne fines for the following:

1.1.1. (1) 8.5’ x 16’ x 10’ Tall Aggregate Testing zone (sand fines)

1.1.1.1. Large Sieve: 22.5”W x 34”L x 48”H

1.1.1.2. 12” Sieve: 14.5”W x 18”L x 48”H

1.1.2. 8.5’ x 16’ x 10’ Tall Mortar Testing zone (cement, silica fume, fly ash fines)

1.1.2.1. (2) Small Batch Mixers: 10”wide x 14” long x 18” tall

1.1.2.1.1. Bowl height during mixing = 10”
