About this file

This is a Standard Form 30 Amendment of Solicitation/Modification of Contract issued by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District (W2SD ENDIST NEW ENGLAND). The amendment is numbered 0001 with an effective date of June 26, 2026, and pertains to solicitation W912WJ26QA121 dated June 17, 2026. The amendment is not extending the solicitation closing date, which remains July 1, 2026 at 5:00 PM Eastern. Offerors must acknowledge receipt of this amendment prior to the solicitation closing time using one of three methods: completing items 8 and 15 and returning copies of the amendment, acknowledging receipt on each copy of the offer submitted, or submitting a separate letter or electronic communication referencing the solicitation and amendment numbers. Failure to acknowledge receipt prior to the deadline may result in rejection of the offer.

The amendment addresses a Request for Information regarding guardrail component specifications. The inquiry questioned clarification on post spacing requirements, noting a discrepancy between MASH Level 2 standards that indicate 12'06" spacing and specification language requiring 6'3" spacing. The response clarifies that while MASH standards allow 12'3" spacing for low-speed road areas under 45 mph, the project specifications mandate 6'3" spacing, and alternate spacing of 12'3" will not be accepted. All other terms and conditions of the original solicitation remain unchanged and in full force and effect.

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION:

QUESTION 1: All guardrail components must meet or exceed MASH (Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware) Level 2 standards Level 2 - indicates 12'06" posts spacing where the following states the posts spacing is 6'03" b. Posts shall be driven to a minimum depth of 40" and spaced approximately 6' 3" apart. Please clarify posts spacing required?

RESPONSE 1: MASH Level 2 standards call for 6' 3" spacing and that is what the specifications call for in the scope of work. We are aware that for low-speed road areas under 45 mph, MASH standards allow spacing to be 12' 3". However, for this project the specifications require spacing of 6' 3". Spacing of 12' 3" will not be accepted.
