About this file

This document is an Amendment of Solicitation for a federal contract (W912WJ25QA093) issued by the US Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, for replacing wall-hung air conditioning units. The amendment provides responses to 24 industry questions about the project, clarifying key details such as licensing requirements, tax exemption status, and project specifications.

The solicitation involves replacing existing non-functional wall-hung air conditioning units rated at 36,000 BTUH cooling capacity in Building 14A. Key clarifications include: no preventative maintenance is required beyond the one-year workmanship warranty, the project is tax-exempt, no mechanical rooms are involved, and existing drawings are not available. The closing date remains September 17, 2025 at 5:00 PM Eastern, with the contractor required to install units as specified and not held responsible for occupant comfort beyond proper installation. The project appears to be a straightforward HVAC replacement on federal property with specific technical and administrative requirements.

Question 22: Will the Contractor be held responsible for occupants being uncomfortable if new units do not provide enough capacity?

Response 22: The contractor is required to provide wall hung air condition units and install them as specified. The contractor is not responsible for occupants being uncomfortable if the units are properly installed per the specifications.
