SUMMARY OF CHANGES
SECTION SF 30 - BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE
The following have been added by full text:
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
Question 1: Is the bottom full of water where the gate is?
Response 1: The average minimum flow is around 1 foot of water in the conduit or 40 cubic feet per second (CFS).
The flow can go lower during dry periods, and as high as 600 CFS during high water events.
Question 2: How will water flow be stopped when working on the gate? If we have to open the gate to clean it and work on it.
Response 2: Cribbing/ water flow control was outlined. Water will continue to flow through when wooden cribbing will be in place. Sluice gate will be supported in the open position with wooden cribbing, at approximately two feet (2’) open.
Question 3: How much water will flow through the gate when put on cribbing per the specs?
Response 3: Two feet of water and approximately 80 cubic feet per second.
Question 4: Who is responsible for managing this water?
Response 4: Project site itself is managed by USACE/ Mansfield Project staff. Within the scope of the contract, water management with the movement/ maintenance of gates falls on the contractor.
Question 5: Where can the water be pumped to out of the area we are working?
Response 5: Water will not likely have to be pumped out since conduit is angled downstream. If water is a concern, gate can be closed fully to work on/ in the sluice gate and the structure itself. This can be discussed with the TPOC during pre-construction conference.
Question 6: Are their liquidated damages on this project?
Response 6: There are no liquidated damages for this project.
Question 7: Is there any sort of outage window when the work has to be performed?
Response 7: At this point there is no scheduled outage during this period. Period of Performance will be 270 days from Notice to Proceed.
W912WJ24Q0101
Question 8: Will this project be tax exempt for permanent materials?
Response 8: Yes, the awarded Contractor may request a tax exempt certificate from the Government post-award.
