SUMMARY OF CHANGES

SECTION 00100 - BIDDING SCHEDULE/INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS

The following have been modified:

Requests for Information Previous RFIs are answered in Amendments 0001 and 0002.

Amendment 0003:

3. The number of building point of entry water quality monitoring systems and building hot water monitoring systems are scheduled on drawing MP-103. There is no schedule on drawing MP-104 for building cold water system distal point water quality monitoring systems; please confirm that a total of

(6) base and (1) option building cold water system distal point water quality monitoring systems are required.

[Answer] See spec section 00 41 00 for bid schedule. Amendment 001 updated the plans to correctly reflect the bid schedule shown in spec section 00 41 00.

See specification section 22 11 10. Point of entry monitoring systems are located in each of the seven buildings (Building 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 23, and 62). There are a total of 7 point of entry monitoring systems (1 per building). Distal point water quality monitoring systems are located at select hydraulically remote areas in each of the seven buildings (Building 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 23, and 62). There are a total of 14 distal point water quality monitoring systems (one hot and one cold per building). The Point of entry monitoring systems and the Distal Point water quality monitoring systems are part of the base contract.

The option item includes replacing the Chloramination Water Treatment System located in Building 47.

See specification section 22 11 05.

4. Does the temperature transmitter require a local LCD display since this data will be sent directly to the BMS via BACnet IP.

[Answer] Refer to Temperature Analyzers addressed in 22 11 10 para 2.2.C.3 for the the Building Point of Entry WQMS panels and in 22 11 00 para 2.3.D.1 for the Distal Point WQMS panels. The spec sections indicate that these Temperature Analyzers do require a local LCD display.

5. What are water temperatures expected for the analyzers that are connected to the hot water systems?

[Answer] Per specification section 22 11 10 para 2.3.D.1, the Temperature Analyzer must have capability to measure a temperature range from -30-100°C. The range was based on commercially available sensors and can be made smaller to reflect actual conditions expected within the potable water system.

0-40C would be acceptable for the planned use.

6. What is the desired control logic for the solenoid flushing valve? What parameter should open/close solenoid valve? For example, our turnkey monitoring systems can be set up to initiate flushing based on oxidant residual.

[Answer] See the additional specification pages following Specification Section 22 11 05 – the addendum following the specification section (Section 22 11 05A, “2. Water Quality Systems Monitoring Overview”) which indicates the set point for solenoid control values. The attached revised Section 22 11 05A, as part of this amendment, corrects some set point values.

7. Can the requirement for an all-encompassing NEMA 4X enclosure be waived as long as all components on the water monitoring systems individually meet NEMA 4X classification?

[Answer] No. The entire enclosure for the Water Treatment System Control Unit, and the Water Quality Analyzer Control Units must be NEMA 4X rate. See specification sections 22 11 10 and 22 11 05.
