About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for Solicitation W912SV26QA008, which addresses clarifications regarding the procurement of a banner printer for the Massachusetts Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Battalion (MAARNG RRB). The document provides specific answers to vendor inquiries about delivery logistics, equipment specifications, and installation requirements at Camp Curtis Guild in Reading, Massachusetts.
Key clarifications include: the customer cannot provide forklift or loading dock assistance but can receive equipment at the facility's bay door; the quote must include 24 ink cartridges total (six each of CMYK); the selected printer model is the XP-640 (without cutting device) using TH ink; the equipment's maximum print thickness capability is 39.3 mil with liner, though typical daily materials range from 2-15 mil; the printer will be installed on the ground floor (not second floor as originally noted) in a back room accessible through the bay; there is no need for elevator access or stair navigation; and the smallest doorway along the delivery path is 78.5 inches wide, with delivery occurring through a large garage bay directly into the installation room. A photograph of the doorway specification was provided to assist vendors with delivery planning.

1) Does the end user have access to a forklift for the delivery of the printer? The customer will be responsible for getting the printer off the delivery truck and into its designated location in their facility.
Answer: We do not have access to a fork lift or loading dock. We can receive the printer at our bay door of the facility.
2) Additionally, I want to confirm that I am correctly understanding, the quote must include 6 each of CMYK ink cartridges. (24 ink cartridges in total)?
Answer: Correct. 24 total ink cartridges
3) The model with the cutting device is model XG-640, which uses TR3 ink. The model without the cutting device is model XP-640, which uses TH ink.
Answer: XP-640
4) Maximum Print Thickness (39.3 mil with liner) Answer: Yes, the 39.3 mil maximum print thickness is correct as a capability of the equipment. Our day-to-day materials (Roland LBV2, CCVP, MCVP, WFRV, RPBF, and GCVP) are thinner, typically in the ~2–15 mil range. The 39.3 mil specification reflects the printer’s maximum material handling capacity rather than typical usage. We do require that higher capacity to ensure compatibility with heavier banner stock, laminated graphics, and other thicker media when needed.
5) On-Site Installation (2nd Floor Office without Forklift) The printer will be in the ground level bay at our facility at Camp Curtis Guild (25 Haverhill St, Reading MA), not the second floor. (The requirement may have been miswritten). We have a loading bay, but no loading dock or forklift. No stairs.
6) Whether elevator access is available for transporting the equipment to the second floor – Answer: N/A, printer will be on first floor
7) If a freight elevator is available, including any size or weight limitations – Answer: N/A, printer will be on first floor
8) Stair dimensions, if stair access is required (width, landings, turns, etc.)
Answer: N/A, printer will be on first floor
9) Doorway widths along the delivery path - The smallest doorway along the delivery path is 78.5" wide
10) Any additional details regarding the delivery path or access restrictions - Delivery path is through a large garage bay into a back room directly off our bay
11) Additionally, if available, could you please provide any photos of the delivery path, including entrances, stairwells, elevators, and the final installation location? This would greatly assist in ensuring proper planning and safe delivery. - Photo of only doorway (78.5” wide) is attached.
