Scope of Work Multiple Paving Projects

Project Number VBDZ142013

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Contractor shall provide all construction services to re-pave the building 2 parking lot, Fuels road, Building 42 holding area, and Building 20 area attaching parking lot to Range Road.

Building 2 Parking Lot:

Scope of work will include milling the top coat, repairing cracks in the binder layer and re-paving the top coat with 2 inches of pavement. A raised sidewalk will be placed where hatched area currently exists. This sidewalk will have handicap ramps on both sides as well as granite curbing. The sidewalk at the corner of building 1 will be removed and re-graded to insert a ramp. All sidewalks will be placed according to the attached details. There will be approx.

1,200 SF of sidewalk removed on the building 1 side of the parking lot. Pavement will meet AASHTO specifications and will consist of Type 6 NYSDOT Top Course Table 401-1; tack coat will meet NYSDOT 702-90. The pavement area is approximately 21,000 sf. The parking lot will be re-striped per the attached drawing. The Contractor will allow 109th CES to inspect the condition of the binder coat prior to re-surfacing with new pavement. All connections to existing pavement will have crack-seal applied at the conclusion of the project.

All curbs and sidewalks (except sidewalks noted for demolition) will remain and be protected during construction.

The south entrance to the parking lot will be a “One Way” entrance and will need striping and a sign to signify this.

The sidewalk between entrances will be 8’ wide with a 1’ planting strip. Both entrances will be equipped with removable bollards per the attached drawing and detail. Granite curbing is exposed around entire island including area along parking lot. Mill and repave will end near where sidewalk reconstruction ends towards flight line.

There is also a minor repair to the access road from the parking lot to the flight line. There is an 8’x8’ patch that needs to be saw cut, removed, and repaved to repair the existing pothole.

The entrance to building 1 will also be removed up to the step and the concrete will be adjusted to alleviate the issue of standing water in the entrance. During this the walls will be protected from damage. All affected areas around the site will be restored to their original conditions.
