Questions and Answers – RFQ Key Tracking System 12 September 2019
1) Will the existing system continue to be used and integrated into the new system or will it need to be completely replaced by the new?
A) There is no room for the old and the new system to coexist. The old will have to be removed in order for the installation of the new system.
2) With regard to your need for Key Control Systems in two different locations to communicate with each other - are you requesting that the keys are able to be moved from one System to another and do you plan to place the System on a DOD network? Is the communications requirement simply related to the ability to pull reports from the System on activity?
A) The Control systems will not be on the DoD network. Communication is primarily for the ability to pull reports of all systems activity, but ability to move keys from one system to another would be a benefit.
3) In reference to the System being able to schedule viewings/showings of houses - will a reservation feature meet your needs that allows a key to be placed in reserve for a person for a particular purpose or do you need the system to communicate with a back-end system of some sort?
A) The reserve function will meet our needs. The Control systems will not need the ability to actually schedule appointments as that is done through a DoD program.
