The

COR shall be notified at least 24 hours in advance of the initial inspection and such inspection shall be made a matter of record in the CQC documentation.

(3) Follow-Up. The follow-up phase shall be performed continuously to verify that control procedures are providing an end product which complies with contract requirements.

Adjustments to control procedures may be required based upon the results of this phase.

(4) Completion. At the completion of all work or any increment, the CQC representative shall conduct a joint review with the COR. During this review the work shall be examined, quality control shall be examined, and a list shall be developed of work not properly completed or not conforming to plans and specifications. This list shall be included in the quality control documentation with an estimated date for correction of each deficiency. (1) Shop drawings including layouts, sections on scale of 1:1, details on fixing, connections, installation methods, and accessories.

(2) Certificates of compliance as required at paragraph 9a-05.

b. After shop drawings have been approved by the COR, the contractor shall construct a sample on scale of 1:1 for each type of window or door he has to install. Samples shall be submitted to COR's approval; after this approval has been obtained, samples will be used in contract work.

9a-04 MATERIALS. Doors and windows shall be constructed of anodized aluminum tubular open type stiles and rails, natural color. Stiles and rails shall be extruded primary alloy UNI 3569- 66, hardened and tempered to TaA. Anodic oxidation shall conform to code UNI 4522-66. All members of doors and windows shall be selected as prescribed by code UNI 3952-66.

Complementary weatherstripping for doors and transom windows shall be of elastomer (Dutral, Neoprene) and tightness shall be obtained by turbulence space of great dimensions (open type joint). Complementary weatherstripping for slide sashes shall consist of strips made of high density water-repellant synthetic wool with central polypropylene flexible fin. The fin shall be one single body with the wool support. Parts subject to wear and tear shall be assembled and locked by contrast for easy adjustment or replacement also by unskilled personnel without any mechanical work. The glass pane shapes shall be snap-on type. Care shall be taken in avoiding that snap-on fastening is obtained through elasticity of the metal. Fastening shall afford maximum safety so that in case of wind pressure, the glass pane shape will not yield elastically. Glass panes or "vetrocamera" panes shall be installed in strict compliance with code UNI 6534-74. The metal fixed frames shall be sealed to the adjacent wall by silicone or Thiokol base sealant as recommended by the manufacturer. Joints shall be no less than 3 mm. and no more than 7 mm. in width; the depth shall be no less than 6 mm. The seal seam shall be supported by special closed cell, elastic, inert fill material. Rain water penetrated into the bottom rail of slide sashes shall runoff through the tubular space of the rail, through pressure jump, funnel principle, and pressure compensating tubes, so as to avoid sprinkle type backwash. In addition to the accessories listed below, all other collateral items recommended by the manufacturer shall be used for proper operation of doors and windows.

9a-05 RATINGS. The doors and windows furnished under this contract shall meet the following classification UNCSAAL, which shall be supported by a certificate issued by an authorized European institute:

- Airtightness: Class A3

- Watertightness: Class E4

- Resistance to wind pressure: Class V3

9a-06 INSTALLATION. All doors and windows shall be provided with steel tubular buck of the dimensions indicated on the drawing that shall extend over the three sides that do not rest on the floor or on the sill. The buck shall receive two coats of a rust-inhibitive paint approved by the COR. Except for type C door, the vertical sides of the buck shall be provided with 180x30x6 flat iron anchors, horizontally slanted toward the center of the jamb. The top of the buck shall be anchored to the lintel by three M8 bolts, screwed to expansion shields for reinforced concrete. The buck shall be bonded by cement mortar and anti-shrinkage additive at the rate recommended by the manufacturer. If it is not possible to anchor the top of the window buck with bolts screwed to expansion blocks, as indicated on the drawings, it will be necessary to weld iron brackets (no less than 2) to the top of the buck. Brackets shall be equally spaced one every meter and will be welded to the reinforcement of the lintels or into the flange of the metal lintels. The forward masonry must be built by means of a hollow flat block or of a lath in accordance with the COR's prescriptions. Opening existing above doors shall be blocked with brick masonry supported by a new concrete lintel. Existing jambs shall be altered to fit the new door dimensions. Jambs shape shall not be chanted. The surfaces covered by this work shall be smooth plastered with fine sand and painted with one coat fixative paint and two coats paint to match the existing surfaces. If, after removing the existing door or window frame, chipping away the plaster or forward masonry, and building seats for the anchoring brackets of the frame, it turns out that the existing masonry is not made of bricks, multiholes or double UNI bricks, or if it is necessary to build a forward masonry or plastering of over 3 cm to adjust the opening to the dimensions prescribed by general specifications, the Contractor will have to tear down the reveal and reconstruct it of concrete.

Jamb width must be the same of the wall; depth must be no less than 15 cm. The installation of the buck must take place at the same time of the concrete casting. The frame shall be fastened to the buck by spacers and 6 mm diameter stainless steel screws AISI 316, complete with stainless steel washers and tightened to a bolt welded to the interior side of the buck.
