About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) with questions and answers related to a wheeled excavator and its hydraulic attachments for Solicitation W912PB-25-Q-3016. The RFI details technical specifications for hydraulic connections, including requirements for multiple hydraulic circuits at the excavator stick end, such as medium and high-pressure circuits, control circuits for a PTH crusher, electrical functions, and various levers and controls. Key discussions involve the type of Lehnhoff quick coupler (hydraulic HS 10 with only hydraulic locking of tools), mounting configurations for swivel (tilt) drives on equipment like the SGF 25 Gravel Finisher and PTH Micro Crusher 1400, and the need for attachments to be compatible with multiple construction machines. The document reflects detailed technical planning for equipment functionality and interoperability, with responses indicating a preference for flexible, multi-use attachment systems.

Suspense Date: 22 April 2025
1.) How does your customer want to connect the hydraulics to the excavator for the individual hydraulic attachments? This is a fundamental question and also applies to the following points.
What is planned here?
Answer #1:
The hydraulic hoses from the attachments are connected to the stick end of the wheeled excavator with screw-on hydraulic couplings.
The following is required at the mobile excavator stick end 1x medium pressure circuit 1x high pressure circuit 1x additional control circuit for PTH crusher (single circuit) 1x electrical function for switching the functions circuit 4 and 5 on the PTH Crusher 1x additional circuit for opening and closing quick coupler Lehnhoff HS 10 1x leakage oil line 1x unpressurized return line 1x high-pressure circuit changeover joystick/foot pedal 1x changeover bucket tipping cylinder/ oscillating grab 1x joystick steering 1x dozer blade lever on left console
2.) Which Lehnhoff quick coupler is meant? A hydraulic HS 10 quick coupler (only opens the locking pins hydraulically) or a fully hydraulic HS10V quick coupler (Variolock – this also connects and disconnects the hydraulic lines). If you want a fully hydraulic quick coupler with hydraulic line coupling, I would recommend the Liebherr Likufix SW48 or Oil Quick OQ 65 system, not the Lehnhoff. The fully hydraulic quick couplers are significantly more expensive.
Answer #2:
It is not a Variolook but only the hydraulic locking of the tools.
The reason for this is that the planned tools must also fit on other construction machines as well as the screw couplings.
3.) The swivel (tilt) drive (HKS BVE 250) for the SGF 25 Gravel Finisher should be able to swivel (tilt) hydraulically through 2 x 50°.
Should it be permanently mounted on the SGF 25 or removable?
HKS BVE 250 swivel (tilt) drive (green device)
Answer #3:
The tilt must be firmly attached to the gravel finisher so that it can also be used by other construction machines.
4.) The PTH Micro Crusher 1400 has only one rotary drive, the swivel (tilt) drive shown in the photo is permanently attached to the excavator.
Should the same swivel (tilt) drive as the Gravel Finisher be installed or used here? If so, as a permanently installed version or removable.
Answer #4:
The tilt function of the HKS and rotator function must be firmly attached to the PTH Crusher.
The hydraulic hoses must be designed with the appropriate couplings so that they can be connected to the end of the handle.
5.) Perhaps you should consider mounting the swivel (tilt) drive (HKS BVE 250) as a fixed attachment to the excavator. This would eliminate the need for the rotary motor on the trench cleaning bucket and allow you to use a fixed trench cleaning bucket without any hydraulic motor.
Answer #5:
Unfortunately, this is not possible. Our other construction machines are equipped with a Lehnhoff HS 10. The attachments are used several times.
