Solicitation Regarding Food Waste Disposal
US Army 2023
Unclear Issues
Compensation Basis
Price schedule position *002 and position *007
(on-call 120 liter containers)
When and for what can the unit price offered here be billed?
Do we understand correctly that this is the price for an additional container on demand for one week (emptying three times)?
Answer: Incorrect - ELIN *002 and *007 depend on number of ordered Containers, length of POP.
One Service refers to a single pick up/emptying service of one single t e m p o r a r y Container
(ordered for a one week period with 3 times emptying)
Example:
- # of ordered Containers: 16 (120ltr. Container)
- POP: 12 weeks
Quantity ELIN *002 / *007: 12 weeks x 3 emptying x 16 cont. = 576 services
Price schedule position *003 and position *008
(“Exchanged container”)
When and for what can the unit price offered here be billed?
We intend to exchange the full containers for empty ones on site. Can we bill this item *003 or item *008 for every container exchange? Can the before mentioned items be billed in addition to or as an alternative to items *001 or *006 respectively for *002 or *007?
Answer: Yes - every container exchange is billed under ELIN *003 or ELIN *008. In addition to the
ELIN *001 or *006 or for *002 or *007.
Price schedule
Apparently there is no position for the billing of the containers for grease/oil in Hohenfels.
Answer: According to RCO – “Collection, Pick
Up, Transportation and Disposal/Reutilization of Kitchen Grease and Oil at USAG Bavaria
Hohenfels IAW the PWS and respective
Attachements” cannot be billed on a separate
CLIN
(Refund/negative input cause a system error).
Therefore Hohenfels will be billed under
Item *001 / ELIN *005

Additional Questions
Container Placement
Would it be possible to place for the packed food items so-called Paloxes each 500 liters instead of the 1,100 liter containers and instead of the containers sized between 600 liters and 800 liters? See container #1 in the photo. Two full paloxes can be stacked on top of each other and four empty ones. For example, one
1,100 liter container might be replaced by two
Paloxes. The Paloxes are cleaned and disinfected after they have been emptied.
Answer: Yes, as long as the total volume of the containers provided for a building corresponds at least to the volume according to TE 3.1 to TE
3.3.
Would it be possible to place 90 liter containers for grease/oil instead of the 100 liter size? See container #2 in the photo. These
90 liter containers are equipped with wheels and lid.
Answer: Yes - as long as the other disposal parameters (Weekly check and emptying if full; at least one emptying per month) are followed.
