SUBJECT: Pre-Bid Meeting for Contract, “Wappapello Control Gate Motor and Brake Rehabilitation” scope of work and requirements.

1. Contractors and USACE employees met on May 1, 2018 to discuss the requirements of the gate motor and brake rehabilitation contract that is out for bid. Bids are due on May 10, 2018. Cynthia Jackson, Rosie Lemons, and Frank Sims were in attendance for the project. Kelsey Staggs and Drew Collins were in attendance for the technical requirements.

2. The scope of work was gone over. Only one brake or motor will be out of service at a time. Final acceptance must be given after installation and testing on one gate before disassembling the next gate motor and brake. Coordination must be made with the project ahead of time.

3. Paint specification requirements were asked to the technical team.

Three coats of paint meeting SSPC 41 are required in the grey color.

4. Contractors were allowed in the gate house to view the brakes and motors that work will be performed on.

5. The question of replacing the brake solenoids was asked. The brake solenoids do not need to be replaced and will not be the responsibility of the contractor.

6. A question was raised on the removal of the enclosure around the motor and brake. The project will remove the enclosures prior to disassembly of the motor and brake.
